HOW TO: DRY SKIN CURE Products needed: Water based cleanser/cold cream cleanser Bicarbonate of soda Glycerol/Glycerine Olive oil/coconut oil/almond oil etc… Vaseline Dry skin can be very problematic for some people as with dry skin the texture isn’t smooth and this can mean that makeup doesn’t go on as smoothly as it could. Hydrating dry skin is one of the best things we can do to create a smooth surface – that and light gentle exfoliation. Combine the two and you’re on to a winner. Try this technique out – see where it takes you. You’ll be surprised at the results you get from such a simple regime Vaseline: Clear, odorless oil derived from petroleum that is widely used in cosmetics because it rarely causes allergic reactions and it cannot become a solid and clog pores. Despite mineral oil’s association with petroleum and the hype that it is bad for or ages skin, keep in mind that petroleum is a natural ingredient derived from the earth and that once it becomes mineral oil USP (cosmetics- and pharmaceutical-grade mineral oil), it has no resemblance to the original petroleum. Cosmetics-grade mineral oil and petrolatum are considered the safest, most nonirritating moisturizing ingredients ever found (Sources: Cosmetics & Toiletries, January 2001, page 79; and Cosmetic Dermatology, September 2000, pages 44–46). Yes, they can keep air off the skin to some extent, but that’s what a good antioxidant is supposed to do; they don’t suffocate skin! Moreover, mineral oil and

  3. ApricotArtLover says:

WAYNE!!! Your wrong, i used this technique and my skin started breaking out really bad… the VASELINE does clog your pores and your skin DOES need to BREATH!!!!

  4. ApricotArtLover says:

@lindsaymflack Vaseline clogs pores, do not i repeat do not use it on your skin unless you want more acne!! Im pissed because i trusted his word >:(

  5. yvonnski53 says:

I’ve used Vaseline and haven’t had any problems. My skin is usually very sensitive as well.

I have bad dry skin i do use vaseline everynight before bed and it doesnt seem to work for me. Do u think it could be my morning faciel wash drying up my face?

Raw organic virgin coconut oil is the most amazing cleanser/moisturizer/hair product/dietary supplement. I give it to my dogs, put it in my hair, wash my face with it, moisturize my skin, lip treatments, etc etc. it has anti fungal and anti bacterial properties so it’s great for acne prone skin. I have huge pores, dry cheeks, blackheads on my nose, but ever since I started using an oil cleansing method with coconut oil, it’s all gotten better.

If you are acne prone though, I would not suggest this routine.

Hi ya..thanks for such a wonderful technique, I tried this for 4 times with 2 days gap.
Improved my skin texture a lot. I have very sensitive and dry skin.
The only question I wanted to ask you is about very dry skin parts like legs and heels do you have similar magic formula for this too?

  12. fauxtaux says:

funny to read all the flipped out comments about vaseline. folks do not read ingredients for over priced moisturizers, obviously (think creme de la mer which is primarily vaseline) and would think nothing about either that price tag or putting it on their faces.

Hi Wayne I’m not sure if you’ll read this but fingers crossed. I have very dry skin. Every morning I wake up and I have dry, flakey patches on my eyelids and on my cheeks. I’m wanting to try everything you said in the video above but I have VERY sensitive skin. I can’t use cleansers or exfoliaters because it makes my skin react, I can only use simple soap twice a week maximum. I have had eczema since I was born just to give you an idea of my skin condition. Can I safely do what you’ve suggested?

I just discovered you. You are absolutely the best GURU. Thank you for what you do. Your tips and tutorials are amazing.

@emwusa I have exactly what you described and went to a dermatologist. He put me on a steroid for a little over a week to clear up the itchy red part of it but the dryness remained. The only thing that worked for me was putting cortisone ointment around my eyes, however you’re not supposed to do that because the cortisone is potentially bad for the eye. But it does clear it up. Now I put Eucerin Calming Creme on them every day after I wash my face to keep it from getting dry again.

Thank you SO much for these tips! I’m in my early thirties as well and have noticed my skin being drier than it used to be in my teens & twenties. I’m definitely going to try this out.
Do you have any tips for dealing with wrinkles??

  19. emwusa says:

@amberjoy93 & dawnmarie529031. I use cortizone cream too. But, it’s only once or twice a day for a few days when the condition is unbearable. I use Bioderma Crealine TS H2O to clean my eye areas, and put Burt’s bees sensitive eye cream since it’s 99% natural. Believe me, I feel your pain.

  20. MiSSloveish says:

I have extremely dry, acne-prone and sensitive skin. Will this work for me?? I’m terrified of putting Vaseline on my face!! I had acne and dry skin back in high school too, but it seems to have gotten MUCH worse in the past year. My acne is now extremely painful to the touch..like if I’m sleeping and my cheek touches my pillow, it hurts a lot! And the dry, itchy skin is just unbearable. I need a miracle cure!

Hi Goss Oil makes my skin itch what esle could i use instead??? Thankyou

  22. ONEnitexx says:

the glycerine spray works greattt :D
    makes my skin very smooth

  23. permadawn says:

@MiSSloveish Your dry skin is causing the acne. Getting rid of the dry skin via moisturizing will clear up your acne as well. Exfoliating will also help get ride of those dry flakes of skin that are clogging your pores and causing the acne. I used to have acne and dry skin + eczema (chronic dry, sensitive skin) and exfoliating+moisturizing cleared up my acne and my dry skin. You also sound like you might have eczema. Please see a dermatologist about that. Skin should not be painful.

  24. MiSSloveish says:

@permadawn – Thanks so much for the very helpful advice! For some reason I’ve also been thinking maybe I have eczema…my skin just feels too dry& literally cracked, even after moisturizing (though moisturizing gets rid of the flaky skin on the surface). I’ve been using a Vaseline/shea butter-like cream called “Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream”, for acne, eczema (& dry), and burnt skin. It seems to be working so far (on day2). If this doesnt work, I’m going to dermatologist!

  25. BLRN84 says:

Glycerin is a humectant and actually can pull moisture out of the skin with the different ranges of humidity in air.

Ever seen where petroleum jelly comes from? Ever seen how it’s made (or lack there of)? O.o after, you’ll seriously think twice
