@bruinreuben yeah i am 12 too and my mom and dad let me use lipgloss and really light eyeshadow and eyepencils note:not everything looks young go to a shop and make sure it looks young on her

@bruinreuben dont cave! haha im in my late teens, and I didnt start wearing makeup til I was well into high school…she should feel comfortable in her skin and not need to mask anything…lipgloss is a great compromise :)
I just bougth the new Revlon polish in “Catty” and I’m pretty sure it’s a great dupe for Chanel’s Quartz! I think it has a bit more sparkle/shimmer rather than sheen, but I swatched it next to Maybelline’s Tapestry Taupe and it’s very close to that colour! :)
@bruinreuben you should try clear mascara, it wont make her look older and her eyelashes will just look a little thicker and maybe you can allow her to use very nude color eye shadows like very light browns and maybe whites and pinks, that way her make up will be very very neutral and she will be very excited to be wearing makeup, stay away from face makeup like foundations and blushes that might make her look older. trust me what ever you let her wear she will be super excited
@bruinreuben i think a bit of cream blush and a natural-looking mascara would be ok too.
@bruinreuben maybe some soft cheek shimmer in a soft pink/plum/coral (depending on skin tone) that she can also use on her eyes elf and a few other inexpensive brands make inexpensive little items…

@bruinreuben im 19. i agree with you that 12 is too young to start wearing full on make u, my parents didn’t let me start wearing make up until i was 14/15…kids are growing up way too fast these days…..maybe allowing her to use a brown mascara as well…it might buy you some more time before maybe bringing in another make up product.

@bruinreuben Tinted moisturizer is the first thing that came to my mind (which is basically a moisturizer that gives a very, very light wash of color), but if she’s 12 she probably doesn’t need any coverage on her face. Maybe you could let her try a brown natural looking mascara (I really like Maybelline’s Full and Soft for a natural look) in addition to the lip gloss? You could start out by letting her wear very natural makeup for special occasions until she gets a little older.

I don’t feel like people should be saying what age you should wear makeup.I’m 13 and i wear makeup,im very insecure and make up just gives me that extra boost of confidence.I know how to apply make up and what suits my skin and what is and isn’t good for my skin,i use a few different products but apply them very naturally most people can’t even tell i wear make up.i don’t think its good for anyone younger than 11 to be wearing make up but it’s really their choose.
