Natural cure for raw skin?
I have a problem with raw skin on my hands – itchy, burning, raw skin. It’s on three or four fingers, but two are just killing me. I know what it’s from – nasty strong dish detergents like Joy and Dawn (compounded by exposure to water), but even if I stop using them I can’t get the skin to heel. I can’t have any petrochemicals on my hands which means no vaseline, no bag balm, no Neosporin, no mineral/baby oil and no to most commercial hand lotions. All of these make things worse. I debated going to urgent care before my insurance ended last night, but I was doing OK. Tonight I would like to gnaw my fingers off… I was thinking of getting an aloe plant and just using pure aloe but in my research I’ve found that people can even develop sensitivities to pure aloe. Ideas? I’m open to anything. Except, of course, anything made from petrochemicals. Thanks in advance.
“Heal,” I meant “heal.” lol.
Well, I’d begin with using dishwashing gloves. They make hypoallergenic ones for sensitive skin to latex.
It really sounds as if you have a severe condition. I know you don’t have insurance, however, I think only a dermatologist can truly help you now. I was going to say try the aloe. I mean even despite what you read, what do you have to lose? Otherwise, a dermatologist can probably prescribe something that is meant for your condition. Paying the price to see one and pay for the medication is better than suffering, isn’t it?
